HISTORY / BACKGROUND

The Kwang Lim Chapel was built in 1996, funded by the Kwang Lim Methodist
Church of Seoul, Korea. It is a show piece reflecting both Korean and African art. Visit it and see for yourself. It has a sitting capacity of 500 people. Although Africa University is a United Methodist related institution, our services are ecumenical.

Structure of the Chapel

The Africa University Chapel is made up of :

  • The Chaplain: His function is to organise, co-ordinate and run Chapel programs.
  • The University Spiritual Life Committee: Acts as an advisory committee to the Chaplain. It is the policy making body on matters dealing with the spiritual life of the University.
  • Chapel Committee: Assists the Chaplain with the day-to-day running of Chapel activities. Its membership is drawn from fellowship groups and ministry areas.
