About Us

Africa University Choir is an established choral ensemble at Africa University. Currently, all the members of the choir are students of Africa University. The Choir is steeped in a musical tradition that dates back many years, and it forms a vital part of the musical activity within the University and the wider community. Africa University Choir is a mixed SATB choir - which means we sing in four parts.

The Africa University Choir was nominated in first place for the 2006 NAMA award. NAMA stands for National Arts Merit Award and the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe gives the award annually in recognition of outstanding achievements in the performing arts. The categories of performing artists include choirs, bands, drama, etc and in the choirs category they also nominated The Harmony Singers, a choir from Chitungwiza in second place.
