Structure/organisation

The Board of Directors guides policy and the overall development of Africa University. The Board has a membership of 30 persons drawn from United Methodist churches and agencies, higher education, business and industry, University Senate, administration and Students Representative Council. Board members represent constituencies in Mutare, across Africa, Europe and the United States of America. The annual Board meeting is held in April and the Board's Executive Committee meets in November.

The Chancellor serves a mainly ceremonial function presiding at Graduation Ceremonies and other major events in the life of the University. The VICE CHANCELLOR is the Chief Executive Officer and is assisted by Associate/Assistant VICE CHANCELLORs, Deans and senior administrators in the management team.
