Masters
in Peace and Governance Programme (MPG)
Special
Regulations
These regulations should be read in conjunction with the University
general regulations.
Entry
requirements
Applicants must satisfy the requirements for Masters degrees. In addition,
applicants must normally posses a minimum of two years working experience
in a relevant field.
Structure
of the Programme
Duration
The duration of the programme shall be three semesters full-time and
six semesters part-time. The maximum period allowed for a student to
complete the requirements for the award of the Masters in Peace and
Governance is also in accordance with the University general regulations.
Course
load
The course load shall normally be a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 15
credit hours per semester and 6 credit hours for part-time studies.
A student must accumulate a minimum total of 36 credit hours to complete
the programme.
Core
courses
The programme offers specialization in three areas:
- Peace Studies
and Conflict Management (PPC);
- Leadership
in Africa (PLA) and;
- Governance
and Civil Society (PGS).
All
students must take and pass the following core courses:

For specialization, students are required to take two additional courses

the University Faculties.

requirements
To be awarded the degree a student must:
- Successfully
complete at least 36 credit hours, including all the required courses;
- Obtain a cumulative
Grade Point Average of not less than 2.60;
- Successfully
complete an internship programme and submit a satisfactory report;
and
- Submit a satisfactory
dissertation
