History
The Faculty was established in January 1996 as the University's third faculty, after Theology, and Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Faculty commenced its operations with a two-year full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme which registered 19 students with 13 of them sponsored by the Commonwealth Secretariat. The length of the MBA programme was later shortened to 18 months in 1999. In August 1997, the Faculty established an undergraduate programme with majors in Accounting, Economics and Management/Marketing. In August 2001, the undergraduate programme was restructured into the present four majors. A part-time MBA programme was introduced in August 1997 in order to cater for those who could not afford full time post-graduate education. In order to increase the accessibility of the MBA programme, the Faculty decided to also offer it on a block release basis, on selected weekends and public holidays. This part-time programme was changed into an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme in 1999. MISSION
