NATURE OF THE RACE


The event comprises of the following categories:
  • (42 kilometres) for adults of active age category, a one-half marathon
  • (21kilometres) for senior citizens and juniors
  • (10 kilometre wheel chair race) for physically challenged athletes,
  • a five (5)-kilometre fun run for primary school pupils
  • 500metre fun run for pre-school age children.

Athletes running both the full and the half marathon shall start their respective races at the same time and at the same strategic location in Old Mutare, but shall use different routes that eventually converge to make up the respective stipulated distances for each category. All races will finish at the Mutare Spotrs Club.

Reporting Time and Starting Venue:

  • All athletes in the main 42km and 21km event are required to report to the starting venue(Africa University Campus) by 6:00a.m. on the day of the event.
  • All disabled athletes are required to report to the starting venue (no. 38 Park Road) by 6:00a.m. on the day of the event.

  • All primary school going age are required to report to the starting venue (Mutare Fairbridge BP Filling Station) by 6:00a.m. on the day of the event.
  • All pre-school children are required to report to the starting venue (Mutare Sports Club Entrance) by 8:00a.m. on the day of the event.
