QUICKFIND
THE CYNARA PROJECT

Here, we are working with 14 resettled farmers in Old Mutare, who have an average land area of 48 hectares each, have 49 Dairy cows between them, and are trying to start off a dairy project. The have in place a standing constitution and leadership committee.

The main lacking area is finance to build milking pallors in order to have an appropriate environment to milk their cows, thereby having access to more lucrative markets because of improved quality of milk.

Finance is also required to grow and buy appropriate stock feed for the dairy cattle, milk storage tanks, refrigerators and other required inputs.

As SIFE Africa University, we intend to help them obtain funding by assisting in business proposals, teaching financial success skills, entrepreneurship and finally, to help them to achieve their goal of being self sustaining dairy farmers with a higher income, and contributing to the country’s agricultural output. In doing so, we are currently working with the AREX Department of Livestock, which helps with technical advice on how to keep productive dairy cattle, and we are seeking more organizations and individuals who can help this community to “grow milk”.
