Campus accommodation
At Africa University, student residences are like a home
away from home. Living in A.U. Halls of Residence is
like being part of a big and unique family under
the guidance and supervision of a caring and professional
Warden Staff. The Warden’s Office is responsible for allocation
of all University managed Accommodation as well as providing
advice on all accommodation related matters. The atmosphere
in the Halls is excellent and is great for meeting people.
Applications for Accommodation
To be considered for accommodation,
a student
has to show interest by way of application to the Assistant Registrar,
Students Affairs. Applications are made in October during first
semester and in March during the second semester each year.
If you decide to apply for accommodation you will receive more
information from the Warden’s Office. Rooms are allocated once
we know that you have met the conditions of offer and it is confirmed
you have registered with the University and have paid the accommodation
fees. In order to promote integration, fusion and co-existence of the
diverse Africancultures and the spirit of Pan Africanism among students,
a compulsory nationality mix is enforced when allocating rooms to students.
Accommodation Guarantee
The University offers accommodation that suites both your budget
and your needs. During your studies, you are guaranteed University
managed accommodation provided you meet the required conditions.

Each of the 12 Halls of Residences has the following
• Shared bathrooms
• shared toilets
• communal laundry area
• communal wash lines
• common room
Each Block has a Subwarden who forms a link between the Students
Affairs Administration and the Students in their respective Halls.
The Subwarden represents the views of the resident students.
Damage Billing and Charges
Students are billed for parts and labour associated with all
damages in the Halls of Residence. If the Repair and Maintenance staff
can not repair the damages Private Specialist Services
providers are called to do the work. The responsible student would be asked
to
pay for the bill.
