About the department
The Department of Continuing Education (DCE) serves as the central administrative unit for Continuing Education programmes The Department provides enabling systems for the University to offer credit and non-credit programmes within the framework of continuing education, and lifelong learning. The DCE achieves this through,
- parallel,
- block release,
- online and distance education programmes,
- professional development programmes,
- training programmes,
- short courses
- other extension and outreach activities
The mission of Continuing Education is to increase access to high-quality university courses to its customers by utilising flexible learning modes, educational technologies and emerging content delivery methods that reduce, and in some cases eliminate, the need for students to be in particular locations at set times to receive instruction
The vision for Continuing Education at AU is to be the premier provider of high quality education courses and programmes, using flexible learning modes to train and empower its students to become the future leaders of Africa in particular and the world in general.

The MIP Program is designed for young professionals who wish to upgrade their skills in IP law. The Program is based on a comparative approach. Must be registered to practice as a nurse by the Nurses Council or appropriate Health Professions Board.
